I hope the fall season is enjoyable to all!! Autumn is my favorite time of year because of the cooler temperatures, fall sports are in full swing, the colors of the foliage, and Halloween is the holiday that brings me the most fun. Fall also means the start of new courses and students returning to the hallways energizing the building and making it come alive.
CVCC continues to focus on improvements, as guided by our Strategic Plan. The Key Committee is reviewing the baseline data from 2018 graduates and creating a survey to gain insight from staff, students, and stakeholders. Our administrative team continues to work with our industry partners to ensure programming aligns with occupational needs. We thank our partners in advance for their support on our advisory committees. These committees work with our instructors to ensure instruction is relevant and meets the current needs of our students.
Improvement is measured at the district, program, and individual student level. The Strategic Plan will illustrate the district data. Program profiles will bring this data down to the program level, allowing instructors and their advisory members to have meaningful conversations on outcomes for students. At the student level, CVCC has one approach and that is to have the students' best interests in mind to ensure they have a competitive advantage in their chosen pathway. The Four Pillars of Career Technical Education will be our measure: Certificate/License, College Options, Work-Based Learning, and Career Technical Student Organizations. These four pillars will springboard our students into their careers.
